2020 was a sad year for many people all around the world as it was for the McGinn family, as Matt’s widow Janette passed away peacefully in Spain, where she had lived with her daughters during her final years. Janette kept all the beliefs and principles that her and Matt had held dear and fought for, right up to her last day. 

Matt and Janette lived their lives with great hopes for the international working class and both played their parts in changing things for the benefit of others. They never got to see the revolution they had always thought was just round the corner, but they never lost their fighting spirit! The family hope to have a celebration of Janette’s life, music and politics in Glasgow once all the travel restrictions have been lifted. We have included a brief biography of Janette in the biography section.
